Fountain Glen Homes for Sale & Community Highlights
The Fountain Glen community is one of the most well-established neighborhoods in Bel Air (Zip Code 21015). As a local realtor, I’ve toured many homes in this neighborhood and am familiar with the area. This landing page was put together to give potential home buyers an idea of what it like to live in the neighborhood.
About Fountain Glen
Fountain Glen sits off of Route 543 between the Emerald Hills Neighborhood and Brierhill Estates. The community features a mix of single-family homes and some townhomes built primarily in the late 1980’s, with lot sizes and floor plans that appeal to a wide range of homebuyers. The single family homes are primarily colonial homes with 4 bedrooms and approximately 2000-2500 square feet. Most of the homes here have finished basements, decks, fenced yards and mature landscaping.
Because of the age of the homes, I have found that some homes have been completely updated and other homes will need to be refreshed.
What Makes Fountain Glen Stand Out
- Location & Convenience: You’re just minutes from I-95, the Aberdeen Proving Ground, and major commuter corridors. Bel Air’s downtown (Main Street shops, restaurants, galleries) is also within easy reach.
- Affordability: The homes in this neighborhood tend to be more modest in size so homes are typically much more affordable than some of the newer Harford County developments.
- Well-Established Neighborhood Feel: Because much of Fountain Glen was built decades ago, you’ll get mature trees, landscaped front yards, and a stability many newer subdivisions can’t match. That said, many homeowners have renovated, expanded, or improved over time, so you’ll find a blend of original charm and modern updates.
- Strong Resale Potential: The combination of location, schooling options, and community character give Fountain Glen consistent appeal to a broad buyer pool.
One long-time resident told me: “We just love the neighborhood. We are close to everything we need and we have our privacy. It’s also pretty easy commute to APG where we work”
Schools & Education
Fountain Glen falls under Harford County Public Schools (HCPS). As with any area, school attendance boundaries can change, so I always advise prospective buyers to confirm current assignments with HCPS. However, the typical assignments for Fountain Glen are:
- Elementary: Fountain Green Elementary School
- Middle School: Southampton Middle
- High School: C. Milton Wright High School

If I were introducing Fountain Glen to someone relocating, I’d highlight how it blends the best of both worlds: mature community, great central access, and steady value.
