Homes and Streets of Glenangus

Glenangus is an HOA community that includes custom single-family homes along with villas, sometimes referred to as carriage homes. The Glenangus Homeowners Association was established in 1987, and homes within the neighborhood were constructed over several decades. Buyers may find properties dating from the 1980s as well as homes built during the 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s.

The villas are generally concentrated closer to the East Wheel Road entrance. They can be found along Winterfield Court, Dunkeld Way, Strathmore Drive, Parkland Drive, and portions of Glenangus Drive. Many of the carriage-style homes were built after 2000 and offer approximately 4,000 square feet of living space, although individual homes vary. Common features include three or four bedrooms, two-car garages, spacious primary suites, finished lower levels, and layouts designed to provide plenty of room without the same amount of exterior property found with some of the larger single-family homes.

The single-family homes are primarily located farther into the community. These properties are generally larger, with some homes approaching 8,000 square feet. Many sit on lots of approximately one acre, although lot sizes and home designs vary throughout the neighborhood. Buyers will find a range of architectural styles, floor plans, finishes, and levels of renovation.

Trees surround much of Glenangus, helping create the private atmosphere that defines the neighborhood. Some homes on Winterfield Court, Dunkeld Way, and Glenangus Drive near the East Wheel Road entrance have views of the Maryland Golf and Country Club. Private drives, maintained landscaping, and wooded areas give the community a polished and manicured appearance.

What Buyers Should Know

Because Glenangus was developed over several decades, the condition of homes can vary. Some properties have been extensively renovated, while others may need to be refreshed. Buyers should consider both the purchase price and the potential cost of future improvements when comparing homes.

The community is not designed as a walkable neighborhood for shopping or dining. Other than possible access to the nearby golf club for members, most destinations will require a car. Stores, restaurants, and services are still only a few minutes away.

Glenangus does not have its own community pool, clubhouse, playground, or similar recreational amenities. Buyers should also review the HOA documents, current fees, architectural guidelines, and maintenance responsibilities before purchasing. These considerations are not necessarily disadvantages, but they are important details to understand when deciding whether the neighborhood fits your lifestyle.
