Marywood Homes for Sale in Bel Air, Maryland

Welcome to the Marywood neighborhood in Bel Air, Maryland. As a local real estate agent, I have toured homes throughout this community and helped buyers explore many neighborhoods in the Harford County area. One of the unique things about Marywood is that many of the streets are named after colleges, and the neighborhood itself shares its name with my alma mater, Marywood (it’s a small world). I have put this page together to give buyers an overview of what it is like to live here. At the end you will find a list of current homes for sale in Marywood.

Convenient Bel Air Location

Marywood Homes for Sale

Marywood is located in Bel Air, Maryland in zip code 21014. The neighborhood sits just off Red Pump Road and is very close to Route 1. While the address is Bel Air, the location also places residents very close to Forest Hill, giving homeowners convenient access to multiple parts of Harford County.

Many buyers appreciate this location because it allows for quick travel to shopping, restaurants, and major commuter routes. Route 1 provides a direct connection to Interstate 95 and areas like Aberdeen Proving Ground, while Red Pump Road makes it easy to reach the heart of Bel Air.

Another advantage of the location is that residents can easily access both downtown Bel Air and the Forest Hill area within just a few minutes. This means daily errands, dining out, and weekend activities are all nearby.

About the Neighborhood and Homes

Marywood is an established neighborhood that developed between about 1965 and 1990. The community offers a mix of townhomes and single-family homes, providing a range of options for home buyers.

The townhomes are located primarily on Drexel Drive and portions of St. Francis Road. These homes typically range from about 1,300 to 1,900 square feet and mostly feature 3 bedrooms. One benefit for many townhome owners is that the homeowners association (HOA) covers lawn care, which helps reduce exterior maintenance responsibilities.

The single family section of the neighborhood is separate from the HOA and offers a more traditional suburban setting. Most of these homes are three or four bedroom colonials with an average size of around 2,000 square feet. The lots typically average about a quarter acre, which provides a comfortable amount of outdoor space while still keeping yard maintenance manageable.

Marywood also features sidewalks throughout much of the community, which many residents appreciate for walking, jogging, or simply getting outside. The neighborhood has a walkability score of about 44. While that may seem modest in larger metropolitan areas, it is actually on the higher side compared with many neighborhoods across Harford County.

Because the homes were built over a span of several decades, buyers will find a range of property conditions. Some homes have been extensively renovated with modern kitchens and updated interiors, while others may offer opportunities for buyers who want to update a home to their own style. The mature trees throughout the neighborhood give Marywood a well established feel that many newer communities do not have.
