Cypress Hills Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Guide (Woodspring Dr)
Cypress Hills is a townhome (or carriage home) community located on Woodspring Drive in Abingdon, Maryland (Zip Code 21009), within Harford County. As a local realtor, I have sold several homes in this neighborhood and know it well. This page is designed to give you a picture of what Cypress Hills offers and how it fits into the larger Abingdon area. At the end of this page, you will find a list of current Cypress Hills homes for sale.
The Cypress Hills Townhome Community
Cypress Hills is made up entirely of townhomes built in the early 2000s. One of the standout features of this community is the size of the townhomes. These townhomes are typically around 2,600 square feet, which is larger than many similar properties in the area. Each home includes a two car garage and flat yards, with the homeowner’s association handling lawn care, which reduces exterior maintenance responsibilities.
The exterior architecture is a mix of brick and siding, giving the neighborhood a consistent look. Sidewalks run throughout the community, and mature trees line the streets, contributing to a settled and private atmosphere. The layout limits pass through traffic, which helps keep the neighborhood quiet and low key.
Home Layouts and Interior Features
Most homes in Cypress Hills offer two to three bedrooms. Many of the two bedroom units include a loft space that can be enclosed to create a third bedroom, office, or flex space, depending on a buyer’s needs. This flexibility is one reason these homes appeal to a wide range of buyers.
These townhomes also have two story family rooms, which is unique for townhomes in the area. This layout, creating an open feel and allowing for more natural light. Many of the properties also include finished basements, adding usable living space for recreation, work, or storage.
There are a limited number of homes with a primary bedroom on the main level, which can be an important consideration for buyers looking to minimize stairs while still benefiting from a townhome setting.
Location and Nearby Amenities
Cypress Hills sits on Woodspring Drive which is off of Abingdon Road. The community is tucked away, yet it sits close to a wide variety of everyday conveniences. Shopping centers, grocery stores, the post office, coffee shops, and drug stores are all a short drive away.
Dining options include local crabcake favorites such as Conrads Seafood and Box Hill Pizzeria, along with many other restaurants and retail options along Route 40. My personal favorite Wegmans is a just few minutes away in the Boulevard at Boxhill Plaza.
Major commuter routes, including Interstate 95, are easily accessible, making it practical for those who travel to surrounding employment hubs while still wanting a quieter residential setting at home.
Harford County Schools
Homes in Cypress Hills are served by Harford County Public Schools. School assignments are;
Abingdon Elementary
Edgewood Middle
Edgewood High School.
Buyers should always verify school assignments directly with Harford County Public Schools before purchasing a home. School boundaries can change in Harford County, and the assigned schools for a specific property should be confirmed by address.
What my clients have appreciated
People who live in Cypress Hills often mention the balance between privacy and convenience. One resident shared, “It feels tucked away, but you are minutes from everything. The homes are spacious, and the neighborhood for the most part is quiet.”
