The Pointe Homes for Sale in Abingdon, MD
Welcome to The Pointe, one of Abingdon’s condo communities that offers a combination of low maintenance living and a nice private setting. Nestled among mature trees at the end of a quiet street, The Pointe features low maintenance condominiums in a wooded environment while still being close to shopping, dining, and major commuter routes. Interestingly, the very first home I ever sold as a Realtor was in this community, so The Pointe has always held a special place in my career. I’ve put this page together to give home buyers an overview of what it’s like to live here. At the end of this page, you will find a list of current The Pointe homes for sale.
Convenient Yet Secluded Location
Located in zip code 21009 in Harford County, The Pointe enjoys a location that feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle while remaining close to everyday conveniences. The community is located off Westover Lane, which connects to Tollgate Road in Abingdon. Although residents enjoy a quiet residential setting surrounded by mature trees, they are only minutes from shopping centers, restaurants, and services.
The Interstate 95 interchange is nearby, making travel to Baltimore, Delaware, and other parts of the region relatively straightforward. Route 24 is also just a short drive away.
As my one client put it “this was the perfect place for me. It’s peaceful and quiet. We have tons of places to eat nearby. Plus, 95 is super easy to get to for my commute to Middle River.”
The Pointe Homes and Community
The Pointe is a condominium community that was built between 1989 and 1990. The neighborhood consists of attractive red brick buildings that have aged well over the years and contribute to the community’s established appearance. Unlike many newer developments that can feel crowded or exposed, The Pointe benefits from mature landscaping and large trees that create a peaceful environment.
Most condos in The Pointe offer approximately 1,150 square feet of living space with two to three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The layouts are practical and comfortable, making them appealing to a variety of buyers including first time purchasers, downsizers, and those looking for a lower maintenance lifestyle. Units feature either private balconies or patios that allow residents to enjoy the wooded surroundings.
One of the things buyers often notice when visiting The Pointe is how secluded it feels. Because the community sits at the end of the street and is surrounded by mature greenery, there is a sense of privacy that can be difficult to find in many condo developments. I think the setting is one of the neighborhood’s strongest attributes.
As with any community built more than three decades ago, the condition of individual units can vary. Some condos have been extensively updated with modern kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and fixtures. Others may still feature more original finishes and could benefit from cosmetic updates. Buyers should expect to see a range of conditions and price points within the community.
