About Bel Air South Townhomes
Bel Air South is a townhome neighborhood with most homes dating to the late 1980s and early 1990s. One thing that makes the community a little different from many traditional townhome developments is the building design. Most buildings contain just two attached homes, so nearly every property has the feel and added windows of an end-unit townhome.
The two-unit design also creates more open space around the buildings than you typically find in larger rows of townhomes. There are sidewalks throughout the community and mature trees. Many homes back to wooded areas, while properties toward the rear of the community back to Harford Glen. The neighborhood has a reported Walk Score of 42, so a car is still useful for most errands even though several destinations are fairly close by.
Most Bel Air South townhomes have three bedrooms and between 1.5 and 2.5 bathrooms. A typical home has approximately 1,300 square feet of above-grade living space. Some properties also have finished basements that can add another 400 to 600 square feet of usable space. Depending on the home, the lower level may provide room for a family room, home office, exercise area, or additional storage.
What Buyers Should Know
Because these homes were built primarily in the late 1980s and early 1990s, buyers should expect to see a range of conditions. Some homes have undergone significant renovations, while others may still have original kitchens, bathrooms, windows, mechanical systems, or other features.
