Legacy at Gateway Condos, Bel Air, MD
Welcome to Legacy at Gateway, one of Bel Air’s hidden gems for low maintenance living with a peaceful setting. One of the things I love most about this community is how the condos back to wooded areas, giving you a quiet, tucked away feel while still being conveniently located right in Bel Air. As a local Realtor, I have toured homes here with buyers and spent time getting to know what makes this neighborhood special. I created this page to give you a picture of what it feels like to live here, along with helpful details you will want to know before making a move. At the end, you will also find a list of current homes for sale so you can see what is available right now.
Convenient Private Location
Legacy at Gateway is located in zip code 21014 in Harford County. The community sits just off Gateway Drive, near Steel Fish Grill and the Bel Air Athletic Club, and not far from the English Manor community. It is also close to the Ma and Pa Trail, which is a favorite feature for many residents. This location gives you easy access to everyday conveniences while still feeling slightly removed from busier roads. Whether you are heading out for dinner, running errands, or enjoying time outdoors, everything is within a short drive or even a walk.
About the Community
Legacy at Gateway is a smaller condo community. The homes here were built between 2009 and 2012, so they offer more modern layouts compared to some older condo communities in the area. Because the neighborhood sits at the end of the road, you will notice very little through traffic, which helps create a quieter atmosphere.
The community is surrounded by trees, and many units have views of wooded areas. This adds a sense of privacy that can be hard to find in condo living. Most of the units are around 1,450 square feet and typically feature two bedrooms and two bathrooms.
Residents here also enjoy access to a community center, an exercise room, and a meeting room. There are often social activities organized within the community, which makes it easier to get to know your neighbors if that is something you value. The walk score is around 55, which means some errands can be done on foot, especially with nearby amenities and the trail system.
What’s Nearby
One of the biggest perks of living in Legacy at Gateway is how close you are to some of Bel Air’s favorite spots. Here are some of mine;
The Ma and Pa Trail is practically right outside your door. This scenic trail is perfect for walking, jogging, or biking, and it connects you to other parts of the area. You can even hop on the trail and make your way toward downtown Bel Air if you enjoy a longer walk.
Downtown Bel Air offers a mix of local shops, restaurants, and seasonal events. It has a charming, small town feel and is a great place to spend a weekend afternoon or meet friends for dinner.
Coppermine Bel Air Athletic Club is nearby and offers a wide range of fitness options, including a gym, group classes, and sports programs. It is a convenient option if you are looking to stay active close to home.
Salt Work Spa is another local favorite, offering services like salt therapy and wellness treatments. It is a great spot to unwind and take a break from a busy week.
Steel Fish Grill is right around the corner and is known for its seafood dishes and casual atmosphere. It is a popular choice for both lunch and dinner and adds to the convenience of the location.
Harford County Mall is also a short distance away. Unfortunately, the future of the mall is little hazy. But, for now, there are still quite a few restaurants and shops in here.

Students living in Legacy at Gateway will attend Harford County Public Schools. The assigned schools are Red Pump Elementary, Bel Air Middle School, and Bel Air High School.
