Locust Hills Estates Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Guide

Locust Hill Estates in Churchville, Maryland offers a quiet, tucked away setting that appeals to homeowners looking for space and privacy. While I have not personally shown a home in this neighborhood yet, my perspective here is based on time spent driving through the community along with research from available listings and local resources. One of the things that stands out right away is how private the homes feel, with large yards and a natural setting that gives the neighborhood a peaceful, almost secluded atmosphere. I put this page together to give a general overview of the neighborhood, and at the end of the page you will be able to view current homes for sale in the area.

Private Location Locust Hills Estates Homes for Sale

Locust Hill Estates is located in zip code 21028 in Harford County, just off Route 155 and within a short drive to I-95. The location strikes a balance that many buyers are looking for. You are set back in a more rural area, surrounded by open land, woods, and farmland, but still close enough to major roads to make commuting manageable. At the same time, once you turn into the neighborhood, the pace slows down and the setting feels removed from the busier nearby corridors.

About the Neighborhood and Homes

Locust Hill Estates is a very small, rural single family home community. This is not a neighborhood with high turnover or dense housing. Instead, it is made up of a limited number of homes that sit on large parcels of land, which adds to the overall sense of privacy and space.

The homes here are primarily brick colonials, and they tend to be on the larger side. Most properties fall in the range of approximately 3,300 to 5,800 square feet, offering plenty of interior space. These are not starter homes. They are more in line with buyers who are looking for long term living, space to spread out, and a property that offers both indoor and outdoor flexibility.

One of the biggest draws to Locust Hill Estates is the lot size. Many homes sit on 3.5 to 4 acres, which is something that is becoming harder to find in Harford County, especially in established neighborhoods. This allows for a level of privacy that you simply do not get in more traditional subdivisions. It also opens up possibilities for outdoor living, whether that means adding a pool, creating a garden, or just enjoying the space between neighbors.

The neighborhood itself is surrounded by woods and open fields, which adds to the overall setting. It feels quiet, and there is a sense that each home has its own space rather than being part of a tightly packed development. Most of the homes were built in the late 1980s through the early 1990s, so you will often find solid construction and traditional layouts. Buyers may see a mix of updated homes and others that offer opportunities for customization depending on how much renovation has been done over the years.

Local Points of Interest

For being in a rural area, there are several local spots that residents of Locust Hill Estates tend to enjoy, all within a reasonable drive.

Keys Creamery is a well known local favorite for fresh ice cream, with a farm setting that makes it a popular stop, especially in the warmer months.  We have a lot of great ice cream  shops in Harford County, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Key’s.  One of the things I love about it is you can do flights of ice cream.

Hopkins Brewery offers a relaxed atmosphere with locally crafted beers and often hosts events and food trucks, making it a good place to unwind.

Churchville Rec Center provides fields, courts, and programs for all ages, making it a central hub for recreation in the area.

Legends of the Fog is a seasonal attraction that draws visitors in the fall with haunted attractions and themed events.

Skydive Baltimore gives a more adventurous option, offering tandem skydiving experiences with views of the surrounding countryside.

Downtown Havre de Grace is a short drive away and offers waterfront views, local shops, restaurants, and a walkable historic downtown area.

Schools

Residents in this neighborhood are served by Harford County Public Schools, typically including Churchville Elementary School, Havre de Grace Middle School, and Havre de Grace High School. As with any home purchase, I always recommend that buyers verify school assignments directly with the county, as school boundaries can and do change over time in Harford County.
