Priestford Estates is located in the 21018 ZIP code in Churchville, Harford County. The neighborhood is centered around Wesleyan Drive, which is off of Priestford Road. It sits near the Priestford Hills and Rolling Green neighborhoods, in an area surrounded by a mix of residential properties, wooded land, and open fields.
While the immediate surroundings feel rural, Priestford Hills is positioned within a reasonable drive of Bel Air, Aberdeen, and Havre de Grace, providing access to shopping, restaurants, employment centers, and other everyday services.
Homes in Priestford Estates
Priestford Estates is made up of single-family homes, with many of the properties built during the 1990s. Colonial-style homes are especially common, and the neighborhood generally has a larger and more substantial style of housing than many subdivisions built during the same period.
Home sizes tend to be generous, with many properties approaching 4,000 square feet of living space. Depending on the individual home, additional finished basement space can provide even more usable living area. Larger floor plans often include multiple living spaces, formal dining rooms, home offices, finished lower levels, and other features that became popular in larger homes during the 1990s.
Brick is also a noticeable architectural feature throughout Priestford Estates. Many homes incorporate brick into the front exterior, while some properties have brick driveway columns or other masonry details near the entrance. Combined with the larger homes and wide lots, these features give parts of the neighborhood a more traditional appearance.
One of the biggest differences between Priestford Estates and many conventional subdivisions is the amount of land surrounding the homes. Most properties are situated on multiple-acre lots, creating considerably more distance between neighboring houses. The acreage also provides room for larger yards, outdoor entertaining areas, gardens, pools, detached structures, or simply additional wooded space.
The streets do not have sidewalks, which is fairly common in rural sections of Churchville. At the same time, Priestford Estates does not have through streets, so most vehicle traffic within the neighborhood is related to residents and their visitors.

While some properties have undergone significant renovations, others may still have finishes, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, or other features that reflect when the home was originally built. Buyers comparing homes in the neighborhood should look beyond cosmetic appearance and pay attention to the age and condition of major components such as the roof, HVAC system, windows, water heater, and other mechanical systems.
The larger lots are another consideration. Multiple acres can provide privacy and flexibility that are difficult to find in more densely developed neighborhoods, but they also require additional maintenance. Buyers should consider how much property they want to maintain and whether features such as wooded areas, long driveways, landscaping, or large lawns fit their lifestyle.
Priestford Estates is also not a walkable neighborhood in the traditional sense. With a Walk Score of 1 and no sidewalks, residents will generally drive for shopping, dining, schools, and services. For buyers who prioritize being able to walk into town, this may not be the right setting. Located on Churchville Road in Bel Air, The Arena Club is a large fitness and recreation facility offering fitness areas, pools, group exercise, youth programs, sports leagues, and other activities.
Churchville Golf Center
Churchville Golf Center has been a local recreation destination since 1976. It offers a lighted driving range, two miniature golf courses, batting cages, and a golf pro shop.
Harford Community College
Harford Community College is located nearby on Thomas Run Road and provides higher education, continuing education, cultural programs, and other community resources. Its Churchville campus is easily accessible from Route 22.
Harford County Public Schools
Priestford Hills is currently associated with Churchville Elementary School, Southampton Middle School, and C. Milton Wright High School.
