Willow Chase Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Highlights
Welcome to Willow Chase in Bel Air, MD. As a local Realtor who lives nearby and has shown homes in this neighborhood, I’ve had the chance to get a real feel for what makes it stand out. Willow Chase is often considered one of the premier neighborhoods in Bel Air, known for its impressive homes, spacious lots, and overall setting. I put this page together to give you a clear picture of what it’s like to live here, and toward the end you’ll find a list of current homes for sale so you can see what’s available (although that doesn’t happen to often)
Location
Willow Chase is located in zip code 21015 in Harford County, just off E Wheel Road. It sits directly across from the Todd Lakes neighborhood and backs to Stone Ridge community, placing it among some of the more sought after communities in the area. It’s also close to Route 543, which makes getting around Harford County fairly easy.
One thing I like about this location is that it feels tucked away without being isolated. You get a quieter, more residential setting, but you are still a short drive to shopping, dining, and everyday conveniences in Bel Air, Belcamp and Abingdon.
About Willow Chase
Willow Chase is a single family home community made up of large colonial style homes built roughly between 2003 and 2005. These are not your typical homes. They are expansive, with an average of 7,000 square feet. Most homes offer at least five bedrooms.
Inside, you will often find higher end finishes that were popular at the time and still hold strong appeal today. Things like detailed molding, upgraded cabinetry, large kitchens, and in many cases premium appliances such as Viking ranges. The homes tend to have a more custom feel compared to newer production builds.
The lots are another standout feature. Most homes sit on one to two acres, which is hard to find in Bel Air. Many properties back to trees, which adds privacy and a more natural setting. There are even homes on Springvale Drive that back to the Maryland Golf and Country Club, which is a unique advantage depending on what you are looking for.
The neighborhood itself sits slightly elevated, so you will notice some yards have gentle slopes. It gives the community a bit of character, but it is something buyers should pay attention to depending on how they plan to use the yard.
From the street, Willow Chase has a very polished look. Many homes feature brick or stone exteriors, and you will often see driveway pillars and custom brick markers with house numbers. It gives the neighborhood a more established and upscale feel right from the first impression.
What’s Nearby
There are quite a few local spots close to Willow Chase that residents tend to enjoy. Here are some of my favorites.
Brooms Bloom is a local favorite for ice cream. Don’t worry if you see a line. They move quick.
Downtown Bel Air offers a mix of restaurants, small shops, and community events. It’s a great area to walk around, grab dinner, or attend seasonal festivals.
Lib’s Grill is a well known local restaurant with a broad menu and a more upscale casual atmosphere. It’s a go to spot for a nicer night out.
Pappas Sports Bar and Grill is known for its crab cakes and laid back setting. It’s a popular place for casual dining and watching games.
Schools
Residents in Willow Chase are served by Harford County Public Schools, including Homestead Wakefield Elementary, Patterson Mill Middle School, and Patterson Mill High School.
School boundaries can and do change in Harford County, so I always recommend that buyers verify school assignments directly with the county before making a purchase.
