Belcamp Homes for Sale and Area Guide

Welcome to Belcamp, Maryland, a conveniently located Harford County community in the 21017 ZIP code. As a local Realtor who lives in Harford County, I know the area well and have helped many buyers and sellers here, including my own dad. Belcamp offers a comfortable residential setting next to the Bush River while still providing easy access to Interstate 95. I created this page to help home buyers understand what it is like to live in Belcamp, explore nearby attractions, and view current Belcamp homes for sale.

Convenient Harford County Location Belcamp Homes for Sale

Belcamp is located in southeastern Harford County between Abingdon and Aberdeen. Route 543, also known as Riverside Parkway, runs through the area and provides direct access to Interstate 95 and Route 40. Downtown Bel Air and Downtown Havre De Grace are both approximately 15 minutes away, depending on traffic, giving residents convenient access to restaurants, shopping, and community events. Aberdeen Proving Ground is also within a reasonable drive.

The location also makes it possible to enjoy a variety of day trips. Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Annapolis, Lancaster, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. can all be reached without planning an overnight stay. The beaches of Delaware, Maryland, and southern New Jersey are generally within a few hours, depending on the destination and seasonal traffic. Belcamp’s proximity to Interstate 95 is especially useful for people who regularly travel throughout Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, or the greater Baltimore region.

About Belcamp and Riverside

Belcamp Homes for Sale

Belcamp is an unincorporated community in Harford County, and its official ZIP code is 21017. You may also hear the area called Riverside. The two names are often used interchangeably by residents, real estate websites, businesses, and local organizations, but they are not technically identical.

Riverside is the census-designated area located primarily between Route 7 and Route 40. The original Belcamp community is located farther south, near and below Route 40. For mailing purposes, Belcamp is the preferred name for ZIP code 21017. In everyday conversation, however, many people use Riverside when referring to the neighborhoods and businesses surrounding Riverside Parkway.

The area includes a mix of townhomes, condominiums, single-family homes, apartment communities, business parks, and commercial properties. Much of the residential development is located close to Route 543, Route 7, and the Bush River. Housing styles, ownership arrangements, association fees, and community amenities vary significantly, so buyers should carefully review the details of each property and neighborhood.

Local Points of Interest

Bush River

The Bush River forms part of the western edge of the Belcamp area. It provides a scenic backdrop for several residential communities and is used for boating, kayaking, fishing, and other water activities.

Discovery Center at Water’s Edge

Located on Pulaski Highway in Belcamp, the Discovery Center at Water’s Edge offers hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics activities. Exhibits and programs are designed to make learning interactive for children, families, students, and community groups.

Anita C. Leight Estuary Center

The Anita C. Leight Estuary Center is located a short drive from Belcamp in Abingdon. The center focuses on the natural environment surrounding Otter Point Creek and the upper Bush River. Visitors can explore walking trails, educational exhibits, nature programs, canoe trips, and seasonal activities.

Downtown Bel Air

Downtown Bel Air is close enough for regular visits and offers locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques, parks, community events, and seasonal festivals. It is also home to the Bel Air Farmers’ Market, the Bel Air Armory, Shamrock Park, and access to the Ma & Pa Heritage Trail.

Harford County Public Schools

Students living in Belcamp attend schools within the Harford County Public Schools system. The assigned elementary, middle, and high schools can vary depending on the property’s exact address.

I always recommend that buyers verify the current school assignment before purchasing a home. School boundaries and feeder patterns can change, and information shown on real estate websites is not always current. Buyers can use the Harford County Public Schools school locator or contact the school system directly to confirm an address.

About Leigh Kaminsky Belcamp Homes for Sale

Leigh Kaminsky is a local Harford County Realtor who moved to the area from New York in 2016. Before beginning her real estate career, she worked as a school teacher in New York. She entered real estate shortly after settling in Harford County and has since helped buyers and sellers throughout Belcamp, Bel Air, Abingdon, Aberdeen, and the surrounding communities.

Leigh remembers what it was like to move to Harford County for the first time. She spent her early months trying local restaurants, attending town events, exploring parks, and taking day trips throughout Maryland and the surrounding states. Those experiences helped her become familiar with the area and appreciate how much there is to do within a relatively short drive.

She believes Harford County is a great place to live because it offers residential neighborhoods, rural scenery, waterfront areas, local events, and everyday conveniences without feeling like a large city.

If you are considering buying a home in Belcamp, Leigh would be happy to help you compare neighborhoods, understand property values, evaluate association fees, and schedule private tours. Contact Leigh Kaminsky at 410-877-4743 to begin your Belcamp home search.
