Discover Riverside Homes for Sale

Welcome to Riverside, a residential community in the Belcamp area of Harford County, Maryland. As a local Realtor, I’ve helped many buyers and sellers throughout this part of the county and have become very familiar with the communities along the I-95 corridor. Riverside is worth considering if you are looking for relatively affordable housing with convenient access to I-95, shopping, employment centers, and the Bush River. I’ve put this page together to give home buyers an overview of Riverside, its location, nearby attractions, schools, and what it is like to live in this part of Harford County.

Where Is Riverside, Maryland?Riverside Map

Riverside is located in ZIP code 21017 in southern Harford County and is closely associated with Belcamp. In fact, most Riverside addresses use Belcamp as their mailing address, so you will often hear the two names used interchangeably.

One of Riverside’s biggest advantages is its location. The community sits around Riverside Parkway, Route 543, Route 40, and I-95. The I-95 interchange is right in the area, which makes commuting toward Baltimore, Delaware, Aberdeen Proving Ground, or other employment centers along the interstate fairly straightforward. Bel Air is northwest of Riverside and is generally about a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic and your destination. The Bush River is just south of the community, giving this otherwise suburban area a connection to Harford County’s waterfront.

About Riverside

Riverside Homes for Sale

Riverside is not a traditional incorporated town with a Main Street or historic downtown. It is better described as a collection of residential neighborhoods, apartment and condominium communities, businesses, hotels, restaurants, and commercial areas centered around the I-95 and Route 543 corridor.

Riverside also has a different feel depending on where you are. Areas close to I-95 and Route 40 are more commercial, while many of the residential streets feel much quieter. Some neighborhoods are surrounded by mature trees and community open space, and several are only a short drive from the Bush River.

For buyers who commute, location is often one of Riverside’s strongest selling points. You can get onto I-95 quickly without having to drive through much of Bel Air first, and Aberdeen Proving Ground is also nearby.

Homes in Riverside

Riverside offers a mix of housing options, including townhomes, condominiums, and single-family homes. Most of the residential development was built between roughly 1980 and 2000, although you will find some homes outside that range.

Homes in Riverside tend to be modest in size compared with some of Harford County’s newer or more rural communities. That variety can make the area appealing to buyers looking for a more affordable entry point into homeownership, as well as those who prefer a lower-maintenance townhome or condo.

Local Places to Know

Located directly on Riverside Parkway, Riverside Pizzeria is a longtime local restaurant serving pizza, Italian dishes, subs, and crab cakes. It has been part of the Riverside area for decades.

Water’s Edge Events Center

Water’s Edge Events Center sits along the Bush River in Belcamp. It is a waterfront venue used for weddings, corporate events, private parties, and other gatherings.

The Brass Tap

The Brass Tap on James Way is a casual restaurant and bar offering craft beer along with burgers, sandwiches, shareable plates, and other pub-style food.

Harford County Schools

Students living in Riverside attend Harford County Public Schools. School assignments can vary depending on the specific address, and Riverside is close to several school attendance boundaries.

I always recommend that my buyers verify the school assignment for a specific property directly with Harford County Public Schools before purchasing. School boundaries can and do change in Harford County, so I would not rely solely on an older real estate listing or a third-party website.

About Leigh Kaminsky Leigh Kaminsky, Bel Air Realtor

Leigh Kaminsky is a Harford County Realtor who moved to the area from New York in 2016 after previously working as a schoolteacher. She entered real estate shortly afterward and now works with buyers and sellers throughout Harford County.

Leigh still remembers what it was like when she first moved here. There were new restaurants to try, local events to discover, small towns to explore, and plenty of easy day trips around Maryland. Over time, Harford County became home. That personal experience is part of why she enjoys helping buyers who are new to the area as well as people who are simply moving from one part of the county to another.
